Our Neighborhood Celebration/Competition

For some unknown reason, the men in our neighborhood turn everything into a game/competition.  There are Friday night poker games, Corn Hole tournaments, dirt bike races, rib cook-offs, etc.  The 4th of July is no different.

We took Max, Annie, and Charlie over to a neighbor's house to celebrate and see the fireworks.  They had a live band, great food, and a truckload of explosives.  Why do men like playing with fire and blowing things up?

Charlie spent a lot of his time watching airplanes fly over.  They were the kind you see at the beach with the advertisements flying behind them.  He could not contain his excitement!  Little mess.

We arrived a bit late, but it didn't take Mack long to get in on all the talk.  These men (boys) crack me up when they are together.  It is almost like they regress to 16 year old boys.

Our hosts have an amazing backyard that is perfect for this kind of gathering.

All of the children enjoyed running in the open field to catch lightening bugs.

The fireworks were fantastic.  There were at least 3 other parties taking place in the neighborhood.  Once the first one was opened, it was war.  One after another, the sky was lit up with beautiful colors.  Hope you had a wonderful 4th!
